Product Details

This is a very soothing, calming & muscle relaxing formula for an overactive or excitable colon as well as being great for painful periods.

Bowel Spasms

A bowel spasm occurs when the bowel muscles tighten which is caused by uncontrolled nerve impulses causing muscle movements. Due to the severe muscle tension changes, spasm can cause a person to have constipation and then diarrhoea

Although there can be many reasons why someone would suffer from bowel spasms, the most common are ailments such as colitis, diverticulitis or IBS. People who have spasm in the colon often also have problems with stress. Anxiety, grief and worry often cause abnormal nerve impulses in the nervous system which extend to the digestive system's nerve impulses.

When muscles are irritated, overtaxed or tense it will also cause spasms. Quite often in places where spasms are common over a period of time a ballooned area is formed just before where the spasm is located. This is the result of faeces getting caught here due to the fact that the spasm prevents them moving forward along the colon.

Period Cramps

This can also be very beneficail to women who experience painful cramps during their periods as the soothing properties of the herbs can help calm cramps down.

Many women experience menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhoea) at one time or another. For some women, menstrual cramps are debilitating, while others experience only mild discomfort during their period.

Menstrual cramps may be primary or secondary.

Primary dysmenorrhoea occurs most often in young women who have just begun their menstrual cycles and often becomes less severe when a woman reaches her mid-twenties or after she has given birth.

Secondary dysmenorrhoea is diagnosed when menstrual cramps are caused by other conditions such as endometriosis, fibroid tumours, pelvic adhesions, and ovarian cysts or by the use of an intrauterine device (IUD) for birth control.

Don’t suffer in silence, the healing herbal blend in Colon Calm also affect the muscles of the uterus the same as they do the colon!
