Product Details

A natural source of vital vitamins & minerals & an excellent source of iodine

What it is

Kelp is a seaweed & it is a prime source of iodine which is crucial in preventing thyroid problems. It is a sea vegetable & is closely related to algae. Rockweed, Bladderwrack & Laminaria are the three most common types of kelp used in supplements. Kelp contains many valuable minerals including iodine (for which it is most known), iron, potassium, calcium & phosphorus. It also helps neutralise the body as it is a highly alkaline substance.

What it does

Due to its high iodine content, sea kelp can help improve thyroid function. It is also believed that it can speed up the metabolism as well as decreasing weight gain (when connected to thyroid complaints). As the minerals in kelp are in a form which the body can easily absorb, they can help with mineral deficiencies. Many people also believe that kelp has other health improving qualities such as promoting a healthy immune system & enhancing brain development, memory & concentration.
